Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for all things. Father, thank you for Moses’ opportunity to be loved and nourished by his mother. Thank you for allowing her love, care, and spirit to be poured into this child whose life would be forever changed. Father, remind us that the foundation we pour into our children even in their infant stages will forever be impressed upon them. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Morning Scripture
“Now it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out to his brethren and looked at their burdens. And he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brethren. So he looked this way and that way, and when he saw no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.” Exodus 2:11-12 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/exo.2.11-12.NKJV “Many years later, when Moses had grown up, he went out to visit his own people, the Hebrews, and he saw how hard they were forced to work. During his visit, he saw an Egyptian beating one of his fellow Hebrews. After looking in all directions to make sure no one was watching, Moses killed the Egyptian and hid the body in the sand.” Exodus 2:11-12 NLT https://bible.com/bible/116/exo.2.11-12.NLT |
Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for all things. Father, help us to see beyond our rage and disappointment. Help us to see beyond our own understanding when we finally see the truth and it is incomprehensible. But Father, if we do act before we have considered all of the possibilities, give us the courage to stand with our decisions. Most of all, Lord, help us to guard our hearts and temper our emotions. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. |

Morning Scripture
“And when he went out the second day, behold, two Hebrew men were fighting, and he said to the one who did the wrong, “Why are you striking your companion?” Then he said, “Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you intend to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” So Moses feared and said, “Surely this thing is known!”” Exodus 2:13-14 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/exo.2.13-14.NKJV “The next day, when Moses went out to visit his people again, he saw two Hebrew men fighting. “Why are you beating up your friend?” Moses said to the one who had started the fight. The man replied, “Who appointed you to be our prince and judge? Are you going to kill me as you killed that Egyptian yesterday?” Then Moses was afraid, thinking, “Everyone knows what I did.”” Exodus 2:13-14 NLT https://bible.com/bible/116/exo.2.13-14.NLT |
Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for all things. Father, forgive us for changing conversations when we are in the wrong. Forgive us for not being a part of the solution but being a part of the problem. And forgive us for being afraid of our truth. Father, help us to see who we are moment by moment. Then help us to hear your whispers of guidance daily. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Amen. Amen. Hmm. 1. The two Hebrew men were fighting and Moses asked why. We must stop fighting brother against brother. We must learn to settle disagreements civilly. Too many of our children and young adults are dying. 2. Instead of addressing the issues, the Hebrew men verbally attacked Moses. When we don’t want to face how we are wrong we often attack others to highlight their flaws and draw attention away from us. Too often instead of solving our issues we skirt around them, throw rocks to divert attention, or simply ignore them. All the while the issues slowly grow and can become unmanageable. 3 Fear causes us to run before we think. Fear causes us to leap with no net. And fear can even cause us to become paralyzed and do nothing. We must learn to manage our fear. Moses’ fear took over him… and we all know what comes next….. Amen. |

Morning Scripture
“When Pharaoh heard of this matter, he sought to kill Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh and dwelt in the land of Midian; and he sat down by a well.” Exodus 2:15 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/exo.2.15.NKJV “And sure enough, Pharaoh heard what had happened, and he tried to kill Moses. But Moses fled from Pharaoh and went to live in the land of Midian. When Moses arrived in Midian, he sat down beside a well.” Exodus 2:15 NLT https://bible.com/bible/116/exo.2.15.NLT |
Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for all things. Father, please continue to be a hedge of protection around us. Father, teach us that sometimes the fight is not ours and it is best to live to fight another day. Remind us, that we may have to seek shelter elsewhere; but that you, Lord, will fight for us. Thank you, Lord, for your protection. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. My head is overrun with thoughts.
