Morning Scripture
“And all the congregation of the children of Israel departed from the presence of Moses. Then everyone came whose heart was stirred, and everyone whose spirit was willing, and they brought the Lord’s offering for the work of the tabernacle of meeting, for all its service, and for the holy garments. They came, both men and women, as many as had a willing heart, and brought earrings and nose rings, rings and necklaces, all jewelry of gold, that is, every man who made an offering of gold to the Lord.”
Exodus 35:20-22 NKJV

“So the whole community of Israel left Moses and returned to their tents. All whose hearts were stirred and whose spirits were moved came and brought their sacred offerings to the Lord. They brought all the materials needed for the Tabernacle, for the performance of its rituals, and for the sacred garments. Both men and women came, all whose hearts were willing. They brought to the Lord their offerings of gold—brooches, earrings, rings from their fingers, and necklaces. They presented gold objects of every kind as a special offering to the Lord.”

Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father as, thank you for all things. Father, thank you for allowing our hearts to be stirred to service in your kingdom. We thank you for a willing heart to serve in your church - in offering and in deed. Most importantly, Lord, thank you for inclusiveness in the work of your kingdom. Your Word says men and women brought what they had and worked in their strength to build the tabernacle. Guide our hearts, Lord, so that we build inclusive relationships in homes, churches, and in all places. You have called us all - men and women - to serve in our capacity and strength. We are grateful for the inclusive call. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Morning Scripture
“And Moses said to the children of Israel, “See, the Lord has called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah; and He has filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom and understanding, in knowledge and all manner of workmanship, to design artistic works, to work in gold and silver and bronze, in cutting jewels for setting, in carving wood, and to work in all manner of artistic workmanship. “And He has put in his heart the ability to teach, in him and Aholiab the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan. He has filled them with skill to do all manner of work of the engraver and the designer and the tapestry maker, in blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine linen, and of the weaver—those who do every work and those who design artistic works.” Exodus 35:30-35 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/exo.35.30-35.NKJV “Then Moses told the people of Israel, “The Lord has specifically chosen Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. The Lord has filled Bezalel with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts. He is a master craftsman, expert in working with gold, silver, and bronze. He is skilled in engraving and mounting gemstones and in carving wood. He is a master at every craft. And the Lord has given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach their skills to others. The Lord has given them special skills as engravers, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple, and scarlet thread on fine linen cloth, and weavers. They excel as craftsmen and as designers.” Exodus 35:30-35 NLT https://bible.com/bible/116/exo.35.30-35.NLT |
Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for all things. Father, thank you for the gift of workmanship. Thank you for pouring a gift of workmanship into each of us based on the skill and talent you have given us. Remind us, Lord, to teach each other so that the gift you have given us will not be lost and the kingdom and families continue to thrive. Father, you have called us to build each other, let us also remember to build with our gifts. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen. Wow… as our family prepares for our reunion, I am inspired to remember why we do this… so that our children remember and our legacy is not forgotten. Glory to God. Amen. |

Morning Scripture
““And Bezalel and Aholiab, and every gifted artisan in whom the Lord has put wisdom and understanding, to know how to do all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, shall do according to all that the Lord has commanded.” Then Moses called Bezalel and Aholiab, and every gifted artisan in whose heart the Lord had put wisdom, everyone whose heart was stirred, to come and do the work. And they received from Moses all the offering which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of making the sanctuary. So they continued bringing to him freewill offerings every morning. Then all the craftsmen who were doing all the work of the sanctuary came, each from the work he was doing, and they spoke to Moses, saying, “The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work which the Lord commanded us to do.” So Moses gave a commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, “Let neither man nor woman do any more work for the offering of the sanctuary.” And the people were restrained from bringing, for the material they had was sufficient for all the work to be done—indeed too much.” Exodus 36:1-7 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/exo.36.1-7.NKJV ““The Lord has gifted Bezalel, Oholiab, and the other skilled craftsmen with wisdom and ability to perform any task involved in building the sanctuary. Let them construct and furnish the Tabernacle, just as the Lord has commanded.” So Moses summoned Bezalel and Oholiab and all the others who were specially gifted by the Lord and were eager to get to work. Moses gave them the materials donated by the people of Israel as sacred offerings for the completion of the sanctuary. But the people continued to bring additional gifts each morning. Finally the craftsmen who were working on the sanctuary left their work. They went to Moses and reported, “The people have given more than enough materials to complete the job the Lord has commanded us to do!” So Moses gave the command, and this message was sent throughout the camp: “Men and women, don’t prepare any more gifts for the sanctuary. We have enough!” So the people stopped bringing their sacred offerings. Their contributions were more than enough to complete the whole project.” Exodus 36:1-7 NLT https://bible.com/bible/116/exo.36.1-7.NLT |
Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for all things. Father, thank you for pouring wisdom and craftsmanship into Bezalel and others. Thank you for pouring a spirit of generosity into the nation of Israel such that there was an overflow of offerings for the building of the Tabernacle. Father, in this time and space of our nation, we ask that you pour a spirit of craftsmanship and wisdom into your people. That you pour a spirit of generosity into those who have offerings to give. We are a nation that may soon be building and rebuilding back to our values and systems. It is our prayer that with your grace and mercy, we can step up and stand the test. In Jesus’ name, we pray and praise you. Amen Amen Amen |

Morning Scripture
“Then all the gifted artisans among them who worked on the tabernacle made ten curtains woven of fine linen, and of blue, purple, and scarlet thread; with artistic designs of cherubim they made them.” Exodus 36:8 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/exo.36.8.NKJV “The skilled craftsmen made ten curtains of finely woven linen for the Tabernacle. Then Bezalel decorated the curtains with blue, purple, and scarlet thread and with skillfully embroidered cherubim.” Exodus 36:8 NLT https://bible.com/bible/116/exo.36.8.NLT Exodus 36:8-38 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/exo.36.8-38.NKJV Exodus 36:8-38 NLT https://bible.com/bible/116/exo.36.8-38.NLT |
Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for all things. Father, thank you for teaching us that even those chosen to complete a task will need help and support from others. Father, forgive us for thinking that we must always be the central focus. Bezalel could not have completed his assignment without the work of the other craftsmen. Father, grant us a spirit of collaboration. Remind us that together is an action, not a concept. We need each other - now more than ever. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen. |

Morning Scripture
“Then Bezalel made the ark of acacia wood; two and a half cubits was its length, a cubit and a half its width, and a cubit and a half its height. He overlaid it with pure gold inside and outside, and made a molding of gold all around it. And he cast for it four rings of gold to be set in its four corners: two rings on one side, and two rings on the other side of it. He made poles of acacia wood, and overlaid them with gold. And he put the poles into the rings at the sides of the ark, to bear the ark. He also made the mercy seat of pure gold; two and a half cubits was its length and a cubit and a half its width. He made two cherubim of beaten gold; he made them of one piece at the two ends of the mercy seat: one cherub at one end on this side, and the other cherub at the other end on that side. He made the cherubim at the two ends of one piece with the mercy seat. The cherubim spread out their wings above, and covered the mercy seat with their wings. They faced one another; the faces of the cherubim were toward the mercy seat.” Exodus 37:1-9 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/exo.37.1-9.NKJV Exodus 37:10-29 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/exo.37.10-29.NKJV “Next Bezalel made the Ark of acacia wood—a sacred chest 45 inches long, 27 inches wide, and 27 inches high. He overlaid it inside and outside with pure gold, and he ran a molding of gold all around it. He cast four gold rings and attached them to its four feet, two rings on each side. Then he made poles from acacia wood and overlaid them with gold. He inserted the poles into the rings at the sides of the Ark to carry it. Then he made the Ark’s cover—the place of atonement—from pure gold. It was 45 inches long and 27 inches wide. He made two cherubim from hammered gold and placed them on the two ends of the atonement cover. He molded the cherubim on each end of the atonement cover, making it all of one piece of gold. The cherubim faced each other and looked down on the atonement cover. With their wings spread above it, they protected it.” Exodus 37:1-9 NLT https://bible.com/bible/116/exo.37.1-9.NLT Exodus 37:10-29 NLT https://bible.com/bible/116/exo.37.10-29.NLT Just a reminder that these clustered scriptures are either repetitive from a previous book of Exodus or a list of directions that are being followed. |
Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for all things. Father, thank you for your guidance. Thank you for providing a path toward success. Father, please pour peace into our hearts so that we may hear your directions and the courage to follow them, so that we, too, will use our gifts, talents, and treasures for the building of your kingdom. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen. PS. I know we’ve prayed similar words before. But if you are like me, we need to pray these words again (and again) because I constantly want to hear and know the path God wants for me and what He wants me to do with my talents. Please, Lord, we need to hear from you. Amen. One more thing, Bezalel was doing a lot and I am sure that it took a lot of time - probably months. Father, please give me a spirit of patience. When I feel your guidance I get anxious because I don’t want to disappoint you and sometimes I feel like I am not moving fast enough or understanding quickly enough. Help me to remember that if you bring me to it you will bring me through it - in the appropriate time. Help me to breathe. Thank you, Lord. Amen. |
