Morning Scripture
Please let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree. And I will bring a morsel of bread, that you may refresh your hearts. After that you may pass by, inasmuch as you have come to your servant.” They said, “Do as you have said.” So Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah and said, “Quickly, make ready three measures of fine meal; knead it and make cakes.” And Abraham ran to the herd, took a tender and good calf, gave it to a young man, and he hastened to prepare it. So he took butter and milk and the calf which he had prepared, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree as they ate.”

“Rest in the shade of this tree while water is brought to wash your feet. And since you’ve honored your servant with this visit, let me prepare some food to refresh you before you continue on your journey.” “All right,” they said. “Do as you have said.” So Abraham ran back to the tent and said to Sarah, “Hurry! Get three large measures of your best flour, knead it into dough, and bake some bread.” Then Abraham ran out to the herd and chose a tender calf and gave it to his servant, who quickly prepared it. When the food was ready, Abraham took some yogurt and milk and the roasted meat, and he served it to the men. As they ate, Abraham waited on them in the shade of the trees.”

Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for all things. Father, thank you for reminding us that we should be prepared to offer you our best when called into service. Abraham was sitting and your presence entered. He was willing to offer his best. Forgive us for dragging and procrastinating, for offering what is left instead of what is best. As we gear up into 2021, remind us to offer our best, to give our best, then wait for your best is yet to come. In Jesus’ name we pray and praise you in advance. Amen.

Morning Scripture
“Then they said to him, “Where is Sarah your wife?” So he said, “Here, in the tent.” And He said, “I will certainly return to you according to the time of life, and behold, Sarah your wife shall have a son.” (Sarah was listening in the tent door which was behind him.)” Genesis 18:9-10 NKJV https://www.bible.com/114/gen.18.9-10.nkjv ““Where is Sarah, your wife?” the visitors asked. “She’s inside the tent,” Abraham replied. Then one of them said, “I will return to you about this time next year, and your wife, Sarah, will have a son!” Sarah was listening to this conversation from the tent.” Genesis 18:9-10 NLT https://www.bible.com/116/gen.18.9-10.nlt |
Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for all things. Father, thank you for words of confirmation. Father, please tune our hearts to hear the confirmation of your plan for our lives, when those words come from people you have placed in our circle. Grant us discernment to filter out the words we want to hear from the words that you have sent to us. Father, place in our circle people of like mind, so that we are in one accord. Thank you, Lord, for your promise. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. |

Morning Scripture
“Now Abraham and Sarah were old, well advanced in age; and Sarah had passed the age of childbearing. Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, “After I have grown old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?” And the LORD said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I surely bear a child, since I am old?’ Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.” But Sarah denied it, saying, “I did not laugh,” for she was afraid. And He said, “No, but you did laugh!”” Genesis 18:11-15 NKJV https://www.bible.com/114/gen.18.11-15.nkjv “Abraham and Sarah were both very old by this time, and Sarah was long past the age of having children. So she laughed silently to herself and said, “How could a worn-out woman like me enjoy such pleasure, especially when my master—my husband—is also so old?” Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh? Why did she say, ‘Can an old woman like me have a baby?’ Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.” Sarah was afraid, so she denied it, saying, “I didn’t laugh.” But the Lord said, “No, you did laugh.”” Genesis 18:11-15 NLT https://www.bible.com/116/gen.18.11-15.nlt |
Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for all things. Father, forgive us when we live in denial of your promise. Father, remind us that sometimes our denial blocks our blessings. Lord, open our hearts and tune them to your love and guidance. Comfort and encourage us as we wait. Strengthen our wisdom and faith as we wait. Allow us to build as we wait. And when it is our time we will be prepared for the abundance. In Jesus’ name we pray and praise. Amen and thank you, Lord. |

Morning Scripture
“Then the men rose from there and looked toward Sodom, and Abraham went with them to send them on the way. And the LORD said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing, And the LORD said, “Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grave, I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry against it that has come to Me; and if not, I will know.” Then the men turned away from there and went toward Sodom, but Abraham still stood before the LORD.” Genesis 18:16-17, 20-22 NKJV https://www.bible.com/114/gen.18.16-17,20-22.nkjv “Then the men got up from their meal and looked out toward Sodom. As they left, Abraham went with them to send them on their way. “Should I hide my plan from Abraham?” the Lord asked. So the Lord told Abraham, “I have heard a great outcry from Sodom and Gomorrah, because their sin is so flagrant. I am going down to see if their actions are as wicked as I have heard. If not, I want to know.” The other men turned and headed toward Sodom, but the Lord remained with Abraham.” Genesis 18:16-17, 20-22 NLT https://www.bible.com/116/gen.18.16-17,20-22.nlt |
Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for all things. Father God, thank you for considering each of us. Thank you for wanting us to know your plans for our lives and the obstacles we will encounter. Father, thank you for coming down to see about us, to see how we are living. And, Father, forgive us for our foolishness, for creating destruction in our wake. Guide us, Lord, we lord and pray, in Jesus’ name. Amen. |

Morning Scripture
“And Abraham came near and said, “Would You also destroy the righteous with the wicked? Suppose there were fifty righteous within the city; would You also destroy the place and not spare it for the fifty righteous that were in it? Far be it from You to do such a thing as this, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be as the wicked; far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?” So the LORD said, “If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.”” Genesis 18:23-26 NKJV https://www.bible.com/114/gen.18.23-26.nkjv “Abraham approached him and said, “Will you sweep away both the righteous and the wicked? Suppose you find fifty righteous people living there in the city—will you still sweep it away and not spare it for their sakes? Surely you wouldn’t do such a thing, destroying the righteous along with the wicked. Why, you would be treating the righteous and the wicked exactly the same! Surely you wouldn’t do that! Should not the Judge of all the earth do what is right?” And the Lord replied, “If I find fifty righteous people in Sodom, I will spare the entire city for their sake.”” Genesis 18:23-26 NLT https://www.bible.com/116/gen.18.23-26.nlt |
Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for all things. Father, thank you for showing us that you will hear our prayers on behalf of our brothers and sisters - even when they don’t know we are praying for them. Father, thank you for a word that shows us that we are to be intercessors. And thank you most of all, for showing us that you are a merciful God, even when we are in the midst of our chaos. My Lord, thank you. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. ***************************** Father, Merciful God, we thank you for your love and our lives. We come today asking you to heal your land. Spare us, Lord. Right now, we are a divided, angry, and vindictive nation. Spare us, Lord. Father, guide us to see that we are one flock under your Love. Spare us, Lord. We ask that you mend our hearts so that we can see that we are brothers and sisters. Teach us that there is no other beginning than Adam and Eve, we are family. Spare us, Lord. And as we turn back to you, remind us that we are to take care of our brothers and sisters and not harm them. Teach us how to love each other, we pray. Finally, Lord, God, remind us that it is our differences that make us great. You have created us to be one body, and each of us has a purpose - one to plant, one to sow, one to reap - but we cannot thrive if we fight against each other. Spare us, Lord. For this mercy and many other blessings we pray, praise your name, and say thank you, in Jesus’ name; Amen Amen Amen. The number 5 symbolizes God's grace, goodness and favor toward humans and is mentioned 318 times in Scripture. Five is the number of grace, and multiplied by itself, which is 25, is 'grace upon grace' (John 1:16). Biblestudy.org |
