A Prayer and Fasting Journal
for
Hutchinson Missionary Baptist Church
March 2023
Heavenly Father, as we prepare for this period of fasting and prayer for our Hutchinson Missionary Baptist Church (HMBC) Senior Pastor, we are humbled at your grace and favor, for you have brought us - your congregation- from a mighty long way. And in bringing us to this point, carrying our burdens, and blessing us through our struggles, we know that you have something more in store for us. Speak Lord, into this congregation, into us individually, and into our families, so that we may be and do what you would have for your flock. In Jesus’ name we pray and praise you in advance.
Amen. Amen. Amen.
Amen. Amen. Amen.
Sunday
‘Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!”
Psalms 133:1 NKJV
“Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Romans 15:5-6 NKJV
Heavenly Father, thank you for all things - for this congregation. Father, thank you for every opportunity that we have to fellowship together. Father, we ask that you pour your spirit of unity into each of us as we pray together. We ask that you remind us that we have come this far by faith, that you have blessed each of us with talents, and that each of our talents are needed for the upbuilding of our church and community. Father, we are not at HMBC by accident. You have planted us in this church. Remind us to love one another, you have charged us to do so. Remind us to be patient with one another, as we all have flaws and challenges. But most of all, remind us that we have chosen to walk a common path, for a common good, at a common time. Help us to see each other, to build on our common love and use these gifts to worship you and build your kingdom.
Now, Father, as we move into this time of fasting and praying, we ask that we come to you in a like-minded spirit. We ask your Holy Spirit to dwell in our hearts and mind and teach us. Guide us in the direction that we should go. We ask that you loose the chains of selfishness and opinions over our hearts so that we can hear your words. We ask that you loose the chains of unreadiness and pour into us certainty that you have spoken. And, loose the chains of self, so that we do not stand in our own way as you desire to bless us with a pastor according to your heart to serve your congregation in this present age.
Father, we need you this week and always. Grant us your wisdom and your peace. In Jesus’ name we pray and praise you in advance. Amen. Amen. Amen.
