A Christmas Prayer

“And the angel said unto them, Fear Not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy,
which shall be to all people.” Luke 2:10 KJV

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for all things, for your son, Jesus.
Thank you for your Joy, that spreads from heart-to - heart.

Thank you, Father, for conquering the spirit of fear.
Even from the beginning, you have quieted our fears.
You reminded us, then and now, that your son’s arrival
brings to each of us comfort and joy.

Thank you for reminding us that Christmas is everyday because through his life’s journey we are healed and saved.

Glory Hallelujah, and Thank You, Lord.
In Jesus’ name we pray and celebrate our Savior's birth. Amen.

Anticipating 2022

As we embarked onto 2021,

We anticipated a new day,
A new year, a new adventure,
A change from the tumultuous year before.

We expected blue skies and unicorns.
But we got more than we bargained for...

Stuck in the remnants and residue
          Of the turmoil of a year gone by;
Stuck in the newness and unbalance
          Of change;
Stuck in the realization that even a return
          To normal was not normal at all.

So we prayed...
          We prayed for healing and understanding,
Restoration and recovery.
          We prayed to walk by faith and
Not by sight;
Believing in your promise that
                    All would be well,

And You have never failed.

We could not have made it without your grace,
          Because we were angry and didn’t know it.
We could not have made it without your mercy,
          Because we fell short over and over again.
We could not have made it without your love,
          Because we were heartbroken and couldn’t comprehend it.

So as we braved this new world,
          We needed You and You were there...

          Giving us strength for one more day.
          Granting us the courage for one more restart.

Securing us in comfort
With each bump along the journey;

Now, we see how blessed we’ve been.

So as we journey on into 2022
          We anticipate more of the same,

More of your loving kindness,
          More of your new mercies,
          And more of our grace that carries us from day to day.

Father God,
          From the valley to the mountain
          We stand in faith,

          And we continue to anticipate each day
With You.

With God’s grace, We welcome 2022 !
