Morning Scripture
““But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.
But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.”
Luke 6:27-28, 35 NKJV

Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for all things. We pray for patience and understanding, Father, so that when others trample our feelings and our spirit we can do what you have called us to do - continue in love. Grant us your courage so that we move forward knowing that you are with us. Thank you for your peace. In Jesus’ name we pray; Amen.
Lyrics for the Day - If I Can Help Somebody (Still appropriate for today)
Mahalia Jackson
If I can help somebody, as I pass along,
If I can cheer somebody, with a word or song,
If I can show somebody, how they're travelling wrong,
Then my living shall not be in vain.
Mahalia Jackson
If I can help somebody, as I pass along,
If I can cheer somebody, with a word or song,
If I can show somebody, how they're travelling wrong,
Then my living shall not be in vain.

Morning Scripture
“For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me, Silvanus, and Timothy—was not Yes and No, but in Him was Yes. For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.” II Corinthians 1:19-20 NKJV http://bible.com/114/2co.1.19-20.nkjv “For Jesus Christ, the Son of God, does not waver between “Yes” and “No.” He is the one whom Silas, Timothy, and I preached to you, and as God’s ultimate “Yes,” he always does what he says. For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.” 2 Corinthians 1:19-20 NLT http://bible.com/116/2co.1.19-20.nlt |
Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for all things - for your “Yes” in Christ. Father, help us to remember your promises; help us to remember our charge to walk in your will. Remind us that all things are possible through Christ. And when we align ourselves in your will, the answer is “Yes.” We are clouded sometimes when we feel that the answer is “No.” In those times, Lord, bring us closer to you so that we may feel your presence and rely on your plan for our lives. Oh Lord, how excellent is your name. In Jesus’ name we pray and praise; Amen. |

Morning Scripture
“Now it happened, as Jesus sat at the table in the house, that behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples. And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to His disciples, “Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”” Matthew 9:10-11 NKJV http://bible.com/114/mat.9.10-11.nkjv |
Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for all things. Thank you, Lord, for showing us you, for reminding us that we are to be available to all people regardless of their position or status in life. You, Father, were available to any person who sought you out and through your patience and mercy, we were able to come to you. We strive to be like you - merciful, patient, and loving. Help us to be more like you. Thank you, Lord for your examples. In Jesus’ name we pray; Amen. |

Morning Scripture
“Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in the power of your hand to do so. Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for all things, for reminding us that we are here to extend a hand to others. We are here to help. Show us, Father, where we can extend a hand, where we can help in small and large ways. And help us to know that each extension of ourselves is an extension of your love for us. Allow others to see you through each of our acts of kindness. In Jesus’ name we pray; Amen. Lyrics for the Day - If I Can Help Somebody
