“Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”

Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for all things. Thank you for reminding us that Jesus has already ‘borne our griefs And carried our sorrows.’ Help us to forgive ourselves, to give our troubles to you and not hold them. Comfort us, Father, in our injury and our weakness, so that we may know that you alone are God. In Jesus’ name we pray and cry Thank you; Amen.

Morning Scripture
“For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: “Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth”; who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness— by whose stripes you were healed.” I Peter 2:21-24 NKJV http://bible.com/114/1pe.2.21-24.nkjv |

Heavenly Father, thank you for all things- for your unmerited grace. My Lord! Your grace is a gift to secure us unto you, which we could not obtain on our own. Thank you, Father. You have created us for good things. Your grace fills us and we desire to love and be of service to each other. Fill our hearts, Lord, so that as we learn more of you, we want to be more like you, and we are able to do and be what you have planned for us long ago. Yes, Lord. In Jesus’ name we pray; Amen. |
