““Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also.”
Matthew 23:25-26 NKJV http://bible.com/114/mat.23.25-26.nkjv Heavenly Father, thank you for all things. Lord, let me not be like the Pharisees, full of beauty on the outside, but not whole on the inside. Cleanse me, Lord, so that I may know the beauty of your love on the inside such that it can be expressed outwardly to others. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen

““Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour. Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.””
John 12:27-28 NKJV http://bible.com/114/jhn.12.27-28.nkjv Heavenly Father, thank you for all things - for purpose. Lord, grant us discernment, so that we may know the path you have for us. We pray, also, for courage, so that we may follow our path. Lord, bless our lives, we pray, so that you may be glorified; so that we may live in your purpose. In Jesus’ name we pray - for guidance and for strength. Amen. “Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant. And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.””

Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying: ‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ”” Matthew 15:7-9 NKJV http://bible.com/114/mat.15.7-9.nkjv Heavenly Father, thank you for all things. Hmmm....knowing the rules is important; but living in the spirit of those rules to care and love each other takes us to another level in our Christian walk...
